Trip to the Catholic sanctuary of Medjugorje

Located in the center of Medjugorje, the beautiful church of St. James has not stopped being renovated since the first apparitions. It is dedicated to St. James, the patron saint of pilgrims.

Behind the church of St. James is a bronze statue of the risen Jesus Christ, a work of art by Slovenian artist Andrej Ajdič. The statue is known for tears flowing from its knees, that is, a liquid that is chemically identical to human tears.

Just 2 kilometers from the city, you can visit the hill of apparitions, that is the white statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary. It is the place where the Blessed Virgin Mary first appeared in 1981. There is also a stone path that connects the Apparition Hill with the Blue Cross for which we recommend more comfortable footwear.

At the foot of the hill, built in 1985, stands the Blue Cross. It is the place where the prayer group of Ivan Dragičević meets and the Blue Cross is the same place where he first experienced the apparition.
